These devices, often referred to as “motors”, are the primary lifting mechanism for suspended scaffolding. Typical hoists have a load capacity of 1,000 lbs. However, the load capacities can range from 700 lbs. up to 2,200 lbs. Hoists are available with either electric or air motors. All of our hoists have emergency descent devices that enable the operators to lower the platform without the use of power. Speed sensitive brakes (overspeed brakes) are equipped on all powered hoists. Primary brakes are fail-safe; loss of power engages brake. Options such as secondary overspeed brakes and pendant controls are easily installed and available on all models. All of our hoists have UL approval and comply with all OSHA requirements for man-riding. |

| Manual Hoists In addition to electric and air-powered motors, manual hoists are available. These are typically used at heights under 50 ft. (Not recommended over 100 ft.). These hoists are approved for man-riding and are a great option when working on low-rise projects or where power is not available. |

Rope Swings This type of suspension system is becoming less common as manually powered mechanical hoists are being viewed as a safer and more dependable option. They are however, still available. The components that make up this system (rope, blocks, etc…) are available for purchase only. Components are not pre-spliced and are made to order only. |
